Hello!

I am Julia Barroso, the author of the autobiographical books The Crooked Spine Girl and The Woman with the Crooked Spine. I am also the creator of this blog, which shares the same name as my first book, and has content related to health, overcoming, and leisure.

I wore a back brace, and even so, I had to undergo surgery for scoliosis. However, from this significant challenge faced throughout my adolescence, emerged a strong and confident woman who is now here to help those in need.

I graduated in Marketing and I was a journalist by profession. I supported the volunteer service at the German Hospital Oswaldo Cruz for one year, the same hospital where I had my spinal surgery. I am starting my studies in psychology to care for children and adolescents with scoliosis and help these patients and their parents more effectively.

I am a member of the Brazilian Scoliosis Society and work focused on raising awareness about this deformity through lectures, participation in events, blogging, Instagram, and writing books.

I also have a section on the website where I talk about transforming my life experience into content about health, well-being, and overcoming in lectures, lives, and podcasts.
